Protect your family and ours by stopping the spread. Passengers should wear a mask or cloth face covering on all CTrail Shore Line East trains and at CTrail stations. And remember, public transportation is for essential travel only. Do your part to protect our #heroesmovingheroes and we’ll do ours to keep CT moving safely during this coronavirus emergency.
The Governor issued EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 7BB, effective Monday, April 20, 2020, at 8:00 pm, requesting the use of face masks or face covering when it is not possible to maintain a safe distance of six feet or more from others while in public. All passengers are requested to wear a face mask or face covering at all times whenever a six-foot distance from other people cannot be safely maintained on CTrail Shore Line East trains, any other public transportation service in Connecticut, and within any semi-enclosed transit stop, waiting area, or CTrail station.
This Order is in addition to the requirement that public transportation is to be used for essential travel only such as getting to and from work or for procuring essential needs. Customers who feel sick should not use public transportation.
Nothing in this order shall require the use of a mask or cloth face covering by anyone for whom doing so would be contrary to his or her health or safety because of a medical condition, a child in a child care setting, anyone under the age of 2 years, or an older child if the parent, guardian or person responsible for the child is unable to place the mask safely on the child’s face. If a person declines to wear a mask or face covering because of a medical condition as described above, such person shall not be required to produce medical documentation verifying the stated condition.
