Labor Day Holiday Schedule


On Monday, September 4th, in observance of Labor Day, CTrail Shore Line East will operate on a weekend/holiday schedule.

Old Saybrook Parking Lot Closure: Sept. 11-15


We are writing to inform you that the Old Saybrook Train Station (fenced-in lot east of North Main St) will be closed from Monday, September 11, to Friday, September 15, for construction and renovations.

Alternative parking is available at the extension lot west of North Main St., adjacent to the bus shelters. Directional signs will be posted to help you easily find your parking options.

The CX Action Plan is Here!


The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has recently announced the publication of the Department‘s first-ever Customer Experience (CX) Action Plan for transit customers across the state. The plan was developed by engaging with public transportation service providers, stakeholders, community partners, and transit customers to collect feedback and identify actions that can be taken to make transit a more pleasant, reliable, and efficient experience for everyone. It is now available for review via this link.

Take the Train to Sailfest in New London


Are you planning to attend Sailfest in New London this year? If so, CTrail Shore Line East can deliver you to the heart of downtown New London, right in the midst of the Sailfest excitement on Saturday, July 8th, and Sunday, July 9th.

New London Union Station is just a short walk to the festivities making Shore Line East the most convenient and hassle-free travel option!

And, if you plan on attending the fireworks on Saturday, July 8th, the train schedule works perfectly to get you there and back.

Arriving in New London on Saturday and Sunday:

  • Train 3034 departs New Haven Union Station at 4:50 p.m. and arrives in New London at 6:00 p.m.
  • Train 3638 departs New Haven Union Station at 5:42 p.m. and arrives in New London at 6:49 p.m

Departing from New London on Saturday and Sunday:

  • Train 3699 departs New London at 10:50 p.m. and arrives in New Haven at 11:51 p.m. Train 3699 will be an 8-car set on Saturday only to handle the higher capacity expected after the fireworks

Updated Info For Madison, Westbrook, and Clinton – Beginning July 3


Beginning Monday, July 3, regular train operations will resume for 16271652, and 3613 instead of the previously scheduled bus substitutions.

Additionally, there will be updated track assignments.

Important Information for Madison, Westbrook, and Clinton Stations


The summer construction and trackwork continue with an ongoing impact on the Madison station.

Please note that trains 1652 and 1627 will not stop in Madison until further notice, and train 3613 will not stop in Madison on Saturdays.

Below are suggested options for getting to and traveling from Madison during this time:

Affected Madison Weekday Trains

  • Train 1627 – Customers traveling from Madison to New Haven Union Station or any intermediate stops must board a bus departing from Madison station at 5:57 a.m. If traveling to Madison from New London, the next available train is train 1637.
  • Train 1652 – Customers traveling to Madison from New Haven must get off at the Guilford station and board a bus at 10:05 p.m. to complete the trip. If traveling from Madison, you can take train 1646 or the train from Clinton Station.
  • Trains 1627 and 1652 will stop on track 1 at Westbrook station and Clinton station.

Affected Madison Weekend Trains

  • Train 3613 – If you travel from Madison on Saturdays, you must board a bus departing from the station at 7:01 a.m. to get to New Haven Union Station or any intermediate stops.
  • All trains will stop on Track 1 at Westbrook and Clinton stations on June 10, 11, 24, and 25. Trains will use their regular track assignments on June 17 and 18 per our schedule.

We wanted to inform you that train 3613 will stop in Madison on Saturday, June 10. The summer construction schedule still applies, but train 3613 will have access to Madison Station instead of the scheduled bus substitution.

In addition, all trains for Westbrook and Clinton will stop on Track 1 on Saturday and Sunday.

We wanted to inform you that train 3613 will now stop in Madison on Saturday, June 3, and Saturday, June 10.  The summer construction schedule still applies, but train 3613 will have access to Madison Station on these dates instead of the scheduled bus substitution.

Service Changes Beginning May 20


Please be advised that a new summer schedule will begin on Saturday, May 20 due to an upcoming construction project. Time adjustments will be in place for several trains. However, since most of the work will be impacting Madison, trains 1652 and 1627 will not be making stops at the Madison Station throughout this time, and train 3613 will not be stopping in Madison on Saturdays, beginning Saturday, May 27.

Please note the following information and some suggested options for getting to and traveling from Madison:

Affected Madison Weekday Trains

  • Train 1627 – From Madison to New Haven Union Station, or any intermediate stops, you will need to board a bus departing from the Madison station at 5:57 a.m. If traveling to Madison from New London, the next available train is train 1637.
  • Train 1652 – Customers traveling to Madison from New Haven will need to get off at the Guilford station and then board a bus at 10:05 p.m. to complete the trip. If traveling from Madison, you can take train 1646, or take the train from Clinton station.
  • Additionally, trains 1627 and 1652 will stop on track 1 at Westbrook station and Clinton station.

Schedule Adjustment Effective April 3, 2023


Due to an ongoing construction project, an updated schedule will go into effect on Monday, April 3, 2023, with adjusted travel times and connections on several trains.

This construction includes the Penn Station Access (PSA) project, enabling Metro-North trains to connect to the west side of Manhattan and into Penn Station, expanding travel options for Connecticut passengers.

Bus Fares to Resume on April 1, 2023


Attention riders who utilize bus connections during their trips, this is a reminder that beginning April 1, 2023, fare collection will resume on all local and express Connecticut bus routes. The CTtransit Sales Outlets will resume selling fares on March 20, 2023.

  • Union Station Shuttle (New Haven)
