In observance of Labor Day, CTrail Shore Line East will operate on a weekend schedule on Monday, September 7.

Due to ongoing construction, CTrail Shore Line East connections will be impacted on the following dates: Saturday, September 12; Sunday, September 13; Saturday, September 19; and Sunday, September 20. During this time, customers should be aware of the following: 

• Amtrak and Metro-North Railroad service to and from New York will be heavily altered, including several Amtrak cancellations due to the WALK Bridge construction in South Norwalk.

• New Haven Line service will operate on a modified schedule, including significantly limited travel options between New Haven and Stamford.

• Expect significantly reduced capacity and potential crowding, with approximately 55% fewer seats available than normal. Customers traveling to and from New York City are encouraged to use the high-capacity parking garages at Stamford and South Norwalk to ride the more frequent trains between those stations.

Due to track work just beyond New London station, CTrail Shore Line East Train 3655 will have adjusted times on the weekend of August 29-30.

CTrail Shore Line East will operate on a modified schedule the weekends of August 15-16 and August 22-23 due to track work that will affect service and connections. 

Guilford Station: All trains will board on Track 1 on the weekends of August 15-16 and August 22-23 only.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected across Connecticut through Wednesday, July 29. This rain may lead to poor drainage and localized flooding, including the potential for flash flooding, and stronger storms may develop during this period.

Customers should plan for possible delays and should allow extra time when traveling. We recommend monitoring conditions closely, particularly during periods of heavier rainfall.

Live customer support will be unavailable all day on Thursday, August 13, while our team completes scheduled training and system updates. Train service will not be affected, and all trains will continue to operate on their regular schedule.

Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with special $2.50 one-way fares for both the CTrail Shore Line East and Hartford Line on Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, 2026.

The $2.50 fare is valid only on CTrail trains. It is not accepted on the Amtrak trains listed on the Hartford Line or Shore Line East schedules.

Looking for a fun summer day trip or family night out? The Mashantucket Pequot Fireworks Extravaganza returns to New London on Saturday, July 11, and CTrail Shore Line East is the easiest way to get there. Spend the day exploring downtown New London, shopping, dining along the waterfront, or enjoying the city’s attractions before the fireworks light up the sky over the Thames River at approximately 9:15 pm.

As a special service, CTrail Shore Line East Train 3663 will depart New London at 10:15 pm, following the fireworks.

From Saturday, June 13 through Sunday, June 14, track work near New Haven State Street station may cause delays of up to 15 minutes for all CTrail Shore Line East trains.

Branford Station: All trains will board on Track 2 on June 13 and 14 only. Regular boarding remains in effect for all other stations.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday, March 15, by taking the train to the festivities! Whether you are heading to New Haven or New London, you can skip the traffic and parking headaches by taking CTrail Shore Line East directly to either of the parades.

Parade Times:

• Greater New Haven: The parade begins at 1:30 PM.
• New London: The parade begins at 1:00 PM.

Why take the train?

• Prime Location: New Haven State Street Station is just a short walk from the New Haven parade route, and New London Station puts you right at the heart of the New London celebration.
