New Fares Take Effect September 1

Starting September 1, 2025, CTrail Shore Line East, CTrail Hartford Line, and Metro-North Railroad services in Connecticut will experience a 5% fare increase.

This change resulted from the biennial state budget adopted in June, which created a funding gap for rail services. Instead of reducing the number of trains, the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is adjusting fares to help maintain your current level of service.

Fares are an essential source of revenue that support safe, reliable rail operations and help cover rising costs.

You can view the updated fares here: ShoreLineEast.com/tickets-and-fares/fares/
