GETTING THERE:

Hop aboard the Thames River Heritage Park Water Taxi, directly behind New London Union Station. Once aboard, you’ll visit a collection of national and historic sites along the Groton and New London shores of the Thames River that capture the history and culture of life along the Thames.

Be transported to the spot where in 1781 traitor Benedict Arnold’s men stormed Fort Griswold, a massacre commemorated annually. Or visit the 1678 Hempsted House to see where a widowed father of nine children managed to find time to chronicle daily life in a diary that is now used as a primary source on Colonial America.

The park also offers historically themed boat and walking tours as well as self-guided audio tours.
